The three pillars of the Outreach sub-board are: alumni relations, philanthropy, and external relations. It strives to cultivate and sustain a strong relationship with alums of the Georgetown International Relations Club through managing the database, organizing events, and producing newsletters. Outreach also provides service opportunities for current IRC members both on and off campus, such as teaching underprivileged children about international affairs and fundraising for Relay for Life. Further, the Outreach sub-board also endeavors to enhance the IRC’s relationship with organizations both within and beyond Georgetown by co-hosting events relating to international affairs that range from discussion groups to film screenings. Upcoming events in Spring 2014 tentatively include an alumni panel, alumni lunches, and service events in tandem with Water Ecuador and the Institute for College Preparation.
