GDISC

The Georgetown International Relations Club is proud to present the Georgetown Diplomacy and International Security Conference in its third edition. As an interactive multi-panel conference, GDISC is a new and dynamic addition to the current roster of educational activities that the IRC offers every year. At its core, the conference aims to promote debate on the great questions of our time, allowing students to gain an insight into the diversity of issues faced by the global community today and in the future. With a plethora of experts, policymakers and prominent scholars partaking in the debate, participants of the conference will be exposed to the leading minds in the field of international security that are shaping the course of international politics. The structure of the conference is designed to maximize the participants’ ability to interact with the experts in attendance and engage in a constructive dialogue with the goal of enhancing their understanding of the issues at hand.

This year,  GDISC has expanded to include two conferences during the 2011-2012 season.  In addition to the spring conference, this November, we will be inviting students from across the District of Columbia and the surrounding area to a high school edition of GDISC. The high school conference will aim to introduce the world of international relations and current affairs to DC students. This event will include not only panelists and speakers, but also workshops run by experienced Georgetown students and a group simulation exercise.
