The Georgetown International Relations Club (IRC) is the hub for all student-based international relations activity on campus.  It’s the main forum for Georgetown undergraduates to build upon their foreign affairs education outside of the classroom.  Each year, we host numerous speaking, cultural, social, and philanthropic events.  We’re also home to the Georgetown Model United Nations traveling team, one of the country and world’s most decorated collegiate Model UN programs.

Our sister organization, the Georgetown International Relations Association, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that funds and operates two Model United Nations conferences each year: the National Collegiate Security Conference (NCSC) and the North American Invitational Model United Nations (NAIMUN).  Held each October, NCSC is Georgetown’s dynamic contribution to the collegiate Model UN circuit.  NCSC draws in 550 delegates from around the country and world, and its team of 150 Georgetown staffers is responsible for its current reputation as the best crisis-based conference around.  NAIMUN is Georgetown’s high school level Model UN conference and the largest student-run conference in the world, with some 3,000 delegate participants each year.  Each February, those delegates and 200+ Georgetown staffers take over DC’s largest hotel — the Hilton Washington — for a stimulating and tremendously fun weekend of internationally-minded debate.

Beyond being a great learning experience, the IRC is a fantastic place to get to know hundreds of other Hoyas who may be different from you but share your spirit for fun and learning about international affairs.
